JOSÉ LUIS REPETTO – PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF FONTAGRO
José Luis Repetto (from Uruguay) was elected President of the Regional Fund for Agricultural Technology (FONTAGRO) in October 2014.
He has been a member of FONTAGRO’s governing body since 2013 and vice president of the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INIA) of Uruguay.
Professor in the livestock department and Director of the Veterinary School Department of Cattle Production of the University of the Republic of Uruguay, Dr. Repetto is also a member of the Board of Directors and was previously an advisor for the university’s Veterinary School.
He is currently president of the Uruguayan Association of Animal Production and member of the Society of Veterinary Medicine of Uruguay. He previously worked as a dairy technician, extensionist, and consultant in food and animal production in dairy cooperatives and feedlots.
In 2003 he was awarded the National Veterinary Prize by the National Veterinary Academy of Uruguay.
He is author of numerous scientific publications and he lectures nationally and internationally in this field.
He graduated in Veterinary Medicine and Technology from the University of the Republic of Uruguay, and has a PhD from the Polytechnic University of Madrid – Lleida University.
Dr. Repetto is married and has three daughters.
ARMANDO BUSTILLO CASTELLANOS – VICE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF FONTAGRO
Armando Bustillo Castellanos (from Honduras) was elected Vice President of the Regional Fund for Agricultural Technology (FONTAGRO) in October 2014.
A member of FONTAGRO’s Board of Directors since 2011, he is Deputy Executive Director of Agricultural Technology Generation in the Agricultural Science and Technology Bureau (DICTA) of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Livestock of Honduras.
He teaches in the Department of Soil Conservation at the National Autonomous University of Honduras and the Regional Central University; he is also Coordinator of the Technical Degree Program in Agricultural and Livestock Production there.
Currently he is Honduras’ national representative before the Governing Body of the Plant Genetic Resources at the global level.
He is representative of the Agricultural Science and Technology Bureau (DICTA) before the national agricultural research institutes of Ibero-America (INIAs), and member of the Technical Group of Technology, Transfer and Innovation of the Central American Agricultural Technology Integration System (SICTA).
Armando Bustillo is an agricultural engineer, graduate of the National Autonomous University of Honduras.
